Two WordPress Glasgow meetups in October

Dave Potter’s talk on website Data Security was full of useful information and of interest to our usual wide variety of attendees, from professional developers to business owners, bloggers and “nearly” complete beginners.

This is what we did in October 2017:

  • WordPress Community Workshop, Thursday 12th October, 6:30pm at the CitizenM’s ground floor lounge. This is our very popular and relaxed get-together.
We all sit around the big table and talk about the WordPress projects or conundrums we are working on at the moment. Bring your laptop or tablet, as well as questions and answers for your co-members. We all help each other get better at WordPress!
  • “How to Survive the Zombie Apocalipse…”, by Dave Potter on Tuesday 24th October, 6:00pm at iCafe Sauchiehall St., basement room.
In today’s WordPress world we subcontract the management of our data to multiple organisations which in turn hold our data in multiple locations. This means our data is exposed to an event which impacts any one of those organisations and/or locations. We owe it to our users, whose details we keep in trust, to mitigate the impact of any such event. This talk discusses how we can do that and asks the question…. Are you ready for the Zombie Apocalypse?

You can join the WordPress Glasgow community and find out more about these and other events from our meetup.com website.

Looking forward meeting you there!
