Installation

This section describes how to install the plugin and get it working.

  1. Download the zip file and extract it.

  2. Upload bp-activity-social-share directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory

  3. Activate the plugin through the \’Plugins\’ menu.

  4. Alternatively you can use WordPress Plugin installer from Dashboard->Plugins->Add New to add this plugin

FAQ

Is this plugin requires another plugin?

Yes, this plugin requires BuddyPress plugin.

Is it comaptiable with BuddyBoss Platform?

Yes, it will consider bb-media files for og-images.

Is it comaptiable with rtMedia?

Yes, it works for rtmedia media activities and attached media are used for og-images.

How to add social service?

In plugin general setting tab, you can see settings Add Social Services. Here you can add new service.

How To remove Social Services from front end Share option?

In plugin general seetings tab, you can see all services listing. Here you can remove service.

Where will Extra Options setting be reflected?

When you click on any of share option in front end then by default social site share open in the pop-up window but if you unchecked Extra Options then it will be open in new tab.

Is it possible to add a new social service in Share option?

If you want to add new social service then you can use bp_share_user_services action to add the new social site in Share option.

Is it possible to change share button text?

If you want to change share button text then you can use bpas_share_button_text_override filter.

Descent plugin. Like that I can choose to add and remove certain social sites

Does not pull thumbnail

Its a great plugin but unfortunately it does not pull the thumbnail from the posts and leaves a blank sample image. I am using Youzer with buddypress. I will definately give 5 stars for this plugin. I was really hoping in the last update it would have been solved as i did already send a support ticket.

Will Give 5 Stars if this can be done!

Is there a way to edit the image being shared? As for when sharing it only shares the image of the site, not the image of the post. Some people will not like that when using this option. Just a thought. Thank you in advance 🙂
