Privacy Policy Genius


The Policy Genius generates displays a privacy policy using a short code. It also creates Cookie Notice to inform users that your site uses cookies and to comply with the EU cookie law regulations.

During setup you provide: a) You configure your cookie notice b) company info, c) data protection, d) and handling practices

WP Policy Genius generates a privacy policy based on your answers. Where is data stored? What safeguards are in place? This Plugin allows you to create a privacy policy for your users in less than 10 minutes.

Once the plugin settings are installed, place the following Shortcode into any page or post [privacy_policy]

You can install Policy Genius via the plugin directory, or by uploading the files manually to your server.

  1. Upload the plugin folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory or install via the Add New Plugin menu
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Create a “New Post” or “New Page” through your WordPress Dashboard
  4. Enter the shortcode in the visual or text editor, exactly as written below:

  5. Privately publish the post or page. This can be done through selecting the “Private” option under “Visibility”

  6. Click on the peramlink which should direct you to a private post on your website. The form should appear.
  7. Complete the form, click Proceed. The following page is your custom Privacy Policy. You may copy the text and post it as your website’s Privacy Policy.


  1. Is this Privacy Policy a legal document?
    No. This is a free policy template that takes into account the data protection requirements and best practices, as well as providing notification to users regarding a websites’ personal information handling practices, created by privacy experts. However, the policy is not a legal document – please consult a lawyer if necessary.

  2. What is a Privacy Policy?
    A Privacy Policy (or “Privacy Statement” or “Privacy Notice”) notifies users of an organization’s personal information handling practices. It is intended to disclose how the organization collects, uses, stores, transfers, and disposes of personal information, along with how it obtains consent and how users can access said information. Privacy Policies are a legal requirement in certain countries.

  3. Why do I need a Privacy Policy?
    Depending on your location, having a Privacy Policy may be a legal requirement of your jurisdiction’s privacy law. Furthermore, having a Privacy Policy is just best practice for transparency and openness. It is informational for site visitors, and also holds organizations accountable to protect data.

  4. Where should I post my Privacy Policy?
    It is recommended that site visitors be able to find your organization’s Privacy Policy through a link on the website home page. This is often found at the bottom of the front page.

Could not activate. Got this error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home2/bootleg/public_html/happyman/wp-content/plugins/policy-genius/plugin.php on line 13 And since I could not activate, I tried to delete it. And got this error: Deletion failed: Internal Server Error Very Sad.
