Remove Protected In Title

Description

Remove Protected In Title is a plugin that removes the prefix that wordpress adds on private and password protected pages.
Usage: Install and activate the plugin. Check one of your password protected or private pages to make sure everything works ok.

Installation

Through wordpress admin:

  1. Go to Plugins -> Add New
  2. Search for “Remove Protected Title”
  3. Install the plugin
  4. Activate it

Through FTP:

  1. Download the plugin
  2. Unzip remove-protected-title.zip and upload the folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

How to use?

After activation the plugin is loaded automatically. It will remove “Protected” and “Private” from all page titles on your site

It just works! I used it with the Overlay Theme, and Wordpress 5.7.1., with no issues whatsoever. Previously I had been trying to do something with CSS but without success, until I found this. Nice one!

I wasn’t willing to mess with changing the coding to get rid of that stupid PROTECTED label on password protected pages. It disappeared as soon as I installed and activated this. Thank you!!

Easiest plugin ever! I wanted to get rid of the alarming “Protected” in my page title. It was confusing for website visitors. I installed the plugin, activated it and boom! The Protected was gone. I didn’t have to do anything at all. Thanks!!

I was frustrated to see all my private pages have “Protected” in the title. A quick google to try to find the CSS led me here, which was much easier! Thank you!
