## Description

Add a **login form**, a **registration form** and a **profile form** to any page
with a shortcode. Forms submit with AJAX, without reloading the page, and the plugin’s
CSS and JavaScript load only on pages that show a form, so the rest of your site
stays fast.

No form builder to learn: add a shortcode, choose where people go after logging
in or registering, and you’re done.

#### Features

 * **AJAX login form**, `[dew_signin_form]`: customers log in with their email address
and password, with a “Lost Password” link and a redirect after login.
 * **AJAX registration form**, `[dew_register_form]`: first name, last name, username,
email and password with confirmation. It follows your “Anyone can register” setting
   and can redirect after registration.
 * **Profile form**, `[dew_profile_form]`: logged-in users update their name, email
and password. Email changes are confirmed from the new address first.
 * Works with CAPTCHA and anti-spam plugins that use WordPress’s standard registration
   checks.
 * The site admin receives the standard WordPress new-user email.
 * Passwords are saved exactly as typed and work with the standard WordPress login
   page too.
 * Logged-in visitors see a friendly “already logged in” message instead of the
   login and registration forms.
 * Lightweight: no form builder, and assets load only where a form is shown.
 * Translation-ready.

#### Shortcodes

 * `[dew_signin_form]`: login form
 * `[dew_register_form]`: registration form
 * `[dew_profile_form]`: profile form for logged-in users

## FAQ

### Do I need coding skills?

No. Add one of the shortcodes to a page, then choose the redirect pages under Settings
> Dew Settings.

### Why can’t visitors register?

Registration follows the WordPress setting **Anyone can register** under Settings
> General. Turn it on to show the registration form.

### Do users log in with their username or email?

With their email address and password.

### Does it work with CAPTCHA or anti-spam plugins?

Yes, with plugins that protect the standard WordPress registration (the `registration_errors`
check). Their checks also apply to this registration form.

### Why is my new email address not saved straight away?

When a user changes their email address in the profile form, the plugin sends a
confirmation link to the new address, and the change is saved when they open it.
This stops someone who gets into an account from quietly taking it over. Developers
can turn this off with the `dew_profile_confirm_email_change` filter.

### Does the plugin work with any WordPress theme?

Yes, with any theme that follows WordPress coding standards, including block themes.

### Where can I see registered users?

All users who register through the forms appear under **Users** in the WordPress
dashboard.

### Where can I get help?

Ask in the [support forum](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/user-registration-and-login/).

## Change Log

#### 1.1.2

 * Fix: The plugin name showed an unreadable character instead of the dash on the
   Plugins screen.

#### 1.1.1

 * Added: A short, dismissible review request on the plugin’s settings page (two
weeks after first use) and a “Leave a review” link on the Plugins screen.
 * Tweak: New name, “User Registration and Login – AJAX Login & Registration Forms”,
with a clearer description and FAQ.

#### 1.1.0

 * Fix: The login, registration and profile forms did not submit on WordPress 5.6
   and later.
 * Fix: Passwords were changed before being saved, so some passwords (for example
ones containing “<“, “%” or double spaces) could not be used to log in. The 10-
   character password limit is removed.
 * Fix: The Lost Password link pointed to a broken address.
 * Fix: With the login and registration forms on the same page, registration read
   the wrong fields.
 * Fix: Errors now show a clear message instead of leaving the form on “Sending
   user info, please wait…”.
 * Fix: The profile form no longer depends on the “Anyone can register” setting.
 * Fix: The stylesheet no longer changes inputs, selects and text areas outside
   the plugin’s forms.
 * Fix: Accented characters in first and last names are kept.
 * Fix: Users can log in with an email address that contains an apostrophe.
 * Security: Registration respects the “Anyone can register” setting, validates
the email address and runs the standard WordPress registration checks used by
   CAPTCHA and anti-spam plugins.
 * Security: Email changes in the profile form are confirmed from the new address,
   and invalid addresses are rejected.
 * Security: Updated jQuery Validation to 1.22.1 and escaped all output.
 * New: The site admin receives the standard new-user notification email.
 * New: Logged-in visitors see an “already logged in” message instead of being redirected,
and logged-out visitors on the profile page get a login link.
 * Tweak: CSS and JavaScript load only on pages that show a form.
 * Tweak: The text domain is now user-registration-and-login so WordPress.org translations
load, and all text is translatable.
 * Tweak: The plugin’s settings are removed when the plugin is deleted. Registered
   users are kept.

#### 1.0.3

 * Added compatibility with WordPress version 7.0.0.

#### 1.0.2

 * Added compatibility with WordPress version 6.7.1.

#### 1.0.1
