Description
Cartlet turns a WooCommerce cart into something people can share, keep and come back to.
A shopper sends their cart to a friend with one tap. A customer saves “Birthday gifts” and finishes the order next week. You build a cart in wp-admin and send it to a client as a link. Cartlet handles all three, and shows you how often it happens.
Share a cart
- A short link for any cart (
/c/abc123), for guests and logged-in customers alike. - Copy, the phone’s own share menu, and buttons for WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, X, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, SMS and email. You choose which ones show.
- A QR code, made in the browser and downloadable as PNG.
- A personal note for the recipient, with a default message you set.
- “Send by email” from your store, in a WooCommerce email you can edit like any other.
- A preview page for the recipient: current prices, stock warnings, “Add all to cart” or pick items, and a choice to add to or replace their own cart.
Save carts for later
- Named saved carts in My Account Saved carts. Shoppers rename them, change quantities (totals update as they type), add notes, remove items, replace them with the current cart, and add all or some items back.
- Guests save with their email address and get a private link back. The cart moves to their account if they register at checkout.
- “Save for later” moves single items out of the cart into a list under it, ready to move back with one click.
- “Save as cart” on past orders in My Account, to order the same things again later.
- Logged-in shoppers keep the same cart on every device.
Cart links for merchants
- Build a cart in wp-admin (products and variations, quantities, a coupon, a heading and a message) and send it as a link for quotes, bundles, influencers or campaigns.
- Create as many links as you like. Each one has a QR code and an opens counter.
- Choose a readable link name (
/c/winter-bundle) or a random one, whether the link opens a preview or goes straight to the cart, what happens when the customer already has a cart, and when the link expires. - Turn a link off and on again at any time.
Back-in-stock alerts
- When an item in a shared or saved cart is out of stock, shoppers can ask for one email when it is back.
- Logged-in shoppers sign up with one click; guests enter their email address.
- Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
See what works
- Shares, opens, saves and restores for the last 7, 30 or 90 days, compared with the period before, with a daily chart and a table view.
- Cartlet Carts lists every saved, shared and merchant cart. Search by cart name, customer email or username, or cart number, filter by type and status, and view, expire or delete carts.
- A REST API (
cartlet/v1) and WP-CLI commands (wp cartlet list, get, stats, expire, delete, purgeand more).
Fits your store
- Buttons below the cart, in the mini-cart, on the checkout and on product pages. Works with the classic cart and checkout and with the Cart, Checkout and Mini-Cart blocks.
- Blocks: Cart button (Share or Save), Saved carts and Cart link preview.
- Shortcodes:
[cartlet_share],[cartlet_save]and[cartlet_saved_carts]. - Button styles that follow your theme, or Solid, Outline, Soft and Text link presets, with an icon-only option.
- Every template can be overridden from your theme (
yourtheme/cartlet/…). - A clean admin with light and dark modes and a 60-second setup wizard.
Lean and private by design
- About 5 KB of JavaScript and 4 KB of CSS (gzipped) on pages that show the buttons, and nothing on other pages. No jQuery on the storefront.
- Modules you switch off load no code at all.
- No calls to outside services. Opens are counted with a fingerprint that changes daily and cannot be turned back into an IP address.
- Data can be exported and erased with WordPress’s privacy tools, and removed on uninstall if you choose.
- Works with HPOS, page caches (link and private pages are never cached, and buttons fetch a fresh security token on old cached pages) and right-to-left languages.
Cartlet Pro
Cartlet Pro is a separate add-on that turns shared carts into a sales channel you can measure:
- Revenue for every link, channel, campaign and sharer, conversion funnels and top products.
- Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel events, and CSV export of carts, links and reports.
- Cart links that close deals: price lock for quotes, customer pre-fill, source and UTM tags, opens limits and checkout landing.
- Rich link previews with a picture of the products when a link is pasted into WhatsApp, Facebook or Slack.
- Private share links with passwords, expiry and opens limits chosen by the shopper.
- Emails that bring shoppers back: saved-cart reminders, price-drop and back-in-stock news, and follow-ups for sharers.
- Smart substitutes under unavailable items, folders and tags for saved carts, and full design control.
- B2B: purchase approvals, branded PDF quotes, role and product rules, and webhooks for your CRM or Zapier.
Cartlet works fully on its own. Cartlet Pro only adds features.
External services
Cartlet makes no requests to outside services by default.
Cloudflare Turnstile (optional). If you enter Turnstile keys in Cartlet Settings Advanced, the “Send by email” and guest “Save cart” forms show a Cloudflare Turnstile check, to keep bots out. The Turnstile script is then loaded from challenges.cloudflare.com when a shopper opens one of those forms, and when the form is sent, Cartlet sends the Turnstile token and the visitor’s IP address to Cloudflare to verify it. Nothing is sent while the keys are empty. Cloudflare’s terms and privacy policy apply.
Share buttons. The WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, X, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, SMS and email buttons are plain links. Nothing is sent to those services unless a shopper clicks one, which opens that service with the cart link to share.
Cartlet Pro features. Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and webhooks are features of the separate Cartlet Pro add-on, not of this plugin; this plugin never contacts those services. The upgrade links in the admin open getcartlet.com in your browser only when you click them.

Blocks
This plugin provides 3 blocks.
- Cart button A Cartlet button that shares or saves the shopper's cart.
- Cart link preview Shows the products of a Cartlet cart link, with Add all and Pick items buttons. Good for bundle and campaign landing pages.
- Saved carts The logged-in customer's saved carts, with Add to cart and View. Guests see a login prompt.
Installation
- Install and activate WooCommerce.
- Install Cartlet from Plugins Add New, or upload the
cartletfolder to/wp-content/plugins/. - Activate it. Share and Save buttons appear below the cart straight away.
- Optional: follow the “Set up Cartlet” notice for a 60-second setup, or go to Cartlet Settings.
There is no permalink step: Cartlet registers its short links itself and repairs them if another plugin clears them.
FAQ
-
No. Prices and stock are checked again when a link is opened. The preview marks prices that changed and items that are out of stock or gone.
-
Can guests save carts?
-
Yes, with their email address, and they receive a private link. You can turn this off in Cartlet Settings Save. Guest carts expire after 180 days by default and are deleted with their email address.
-
Below the cart by default. Choose the mini-cart, checkout and product pages in Cartlet Settings Display, or place them anywhere with the Cart button block or the shortcodes.
-
Does it work with the Cart and Checkout blocks?
-
Yes, and with the classic cart and checkout, the Mini-Cart block and the classic mini-cart widget.
-
Does it work with page caching?
-
Yes. Link and private pages tell caches not to store them, product-page buttons are the same for every visitor, and the popups fetch a fresh security token if a cached page is older than WordPress allows.
-
What about variations, bundles and other product types?
-
Simple, variable, grouped children, virtual and downloadable products work out of the box, in shared and saved carts alike. Extra cart item data from other plugins is kept and passed back when a cart is restored; developers can adjust it with the
cartlet_capture_item_dataandcartlet_restore_item_datafilters.For cart links you build in wp-admin, pick variations that have every attribute set. Variations with an attribute left at “Any” are not offered there, because the customer would have nowhere to choose it.
-
What happens when a link can no longer be opened?
-
When a link has expired, was turned off or deleted, or its cart is gone, visitors see “This link is no longer available” with a button to the shop. They are not told which of these happened.
-
Is any data sent to third parties?
-
No. The QR code is made in the browser. Cloudflare Turnstile is only used if you add its keys to protect the email and guest-save forms.
-
What is the difference between Cartlet and Cartlet Pro?
-
Cartlet shares, saves and links carts, sends back-in-stock alerts, and counts shares, opens, saves and restores. Cartlet Pro adds revenue per link and channel, private links, price lock, reminder emails, B2B approvals and PDF quotes, webhooks and more. Cartlet Upgrade to Pro in your admin lists every feature.
-
Can I remove everything when I uninstall?
-
Yes: tick “Delete all Cartlet data” in Cartlet Settings Advanced before deleting the plugin.
